The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Juliet Is Cane’s New Priority – Lane Marriage Really Over

Cane (Daniel Goddard) genuinely loves Lily (Christel Khalil) on ‘The Young and the Restless’. But he’s having a child with Juliet (Laur Allen). That new reality makes Miss Helton his top priority.

Savvy soap viewers notice whenever a new character is given a last name. Such was the case with Allen’s alter ego. And, within a short amount of time, Juliet has become a key resident of Genoa City.

‘Lane’ was likeable. Yes, Lily and Cane had their problems through the years. Most couples do in the real world and on TV. But they stood strong though Lily’s cancer battle and became the proud parents of two good kids via the generosity of a surrogate mother.

There was that very soapy faked death as well, where Goddard played a dual role. Hopefully Caleb Atkinson (Goddard, as Cane’s evil twin brother) was actually the one who was killed, as daytime fans can never be sure, regardless of what was presented, what storyline could be revisited. Writing team philosophies vary, as everyone knows.

The idea that the endearing couple tagged as ‘Lane’ would be broken up seemed unlikely after the Joe (Scott Elrod) issue was resolved a few years ago. But Y&R must have believed that Lily and Cane were staid and thus orchestrated the change.

Lily hasn’t yet moved on to Jordan (Darnell Kirkwood). That eventuality seems certain, as both friends are available for each other this autumn. Lily’s romantic option appeared to influence her choice to let Cane go.

Cane’s initial feeling that nothing would change between he and the SORAS’d twins didn’t prove to be accurate. Mattie (Lexie Stevenson) and Charlie (Noah Alexander Gerry) were shocked to learn what their father did and now, after starting to come around, will have to deal with his permanent absence in their family home.

In the buildup to the birth of their child, ‘Jane’ will naturally grow closer. Juliet’s recently diagnosed health issue will serve to keep Cane closer than he’s been to-date. Then, when their son is born this trio’s new life together will truly begin.
