Fans don’t truly know if Juliet (Laur Allen) planned everything from the beginning on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Some believe she wanted to trap Cane (Daniel Goddard), others think what happened resulted from ill-advised behavior. With whatever is true, Juliet holds the cards now.
Cane is available because that Lily (Christel Khalil) has filed for divorce. He’ll now shift his allegiance to Juliet incrementally. This process will evolve due to the baby, but will cement itself as he and Juliet bond romantically.
‘Lane’ represented the traditional nuclear family. That human base has historically provided stability for the vast majority of adults and children. Those who claim otherwise believe in a different ideology.
While Juliet isn’t Mrs. Ashby, the likelihood of that name change happening appears to be growing. As each day passes and her son develops, so too do the odds that Cane will marry her.
Lily hardly overreacted when she first learned about Juliet and Cane’s coming second son. Instead, Mrs. Ashby demonstrated significant restraint and offered compassion regarding Cane’s predicament. He did prove that the events in Tokyo, Japan, weren’t intended, on his part and that, along with love, with enough for his wife.
The deeply bizarre series of events that subsequently took place in Los Angeles, California, were independent of the issue that’s been detailed. Cane’s free will choice to pay Jesse (Max Adler) to setup Billy (Jason Thompson), followed by Jesse’s successful blackmail efforts against Cane actually sunk the Ashby marriage.
Cane didn’t need to transfer the bulk of the twins’ school account to Jesse, but he did. That revelation proved too much for Lily, who later filed for divorce.
As Autumn rolls and Christmas nears, Cane will feel his family loyalty split. Yes, the twins will always represent a part of his life. But a new life, in the form of the son Juliet will give birth to, is soon to arrive. That logical and emotional factor will deeply impact Cane’s view of reality.
