Jack (Peter Bergman) wants to assert his power on ‘The Young and the Restless’. In order to better position Jabot, he would like to purchase Chancellor Industries. Jill (Jess Walton) is open to the possibility but wants a better offer than the one Jack’s given.
The idea of Jabot owning Chancellor would have seemed out of the question months ago. But Jack’s priorities have recently changed.

Katherine’s (Jeanne Cooper) legacy remains strong in Genoa City. The park that bears her name in the center of town has just been preserved through Nikki’s (Melody Thomas Scott) creative money acquisition and highest bid for that beloved green space.
Y&R has rightly honored Cooper since her passing. Often mentioning Katherine and keeping the mansion as a prime setting. But the idea of the company Jill eventually was given control of passing on to Jack seems a bit of a stretch, which assumes that happens.
Devon (Bryton James) would be the best choice if Jill does actually sell. Whether he’ll have enough fluid cash to outbid Jack is the question.
Jill has returned to town with a newfound sense of altruism. She wants to turn Chancellor Industries’ worth into a cash splash that can be used to improve the lives of others around the globe. Whether her intentions bear fruit, or prove to merely be a whim remains to be seen.
Jack should actually be focusing on Dina (Marla Adams) at the moment. She’s suffering from Alzheimer’s disease and needs his full attention. Instead, Jack’s invoked a clause that he inserted in Jabot’s bylaws years ago that prevents non-blood relatives from becoming the company’s CEO.

Ashley’s (Eileen Davidson) ouster, which followed her having taken Jack’s spot via a no-confidence board vote she called for, has created turmoil within the Abbott family. Would someone like Jack really be the right person for Jill to entrust Katherine’s company to?
Jill’s apparent desire to do good would seemingly be built off a questionable business deal, if she actually negotiates a preferred price with Jack. That can’t be something Katherine approves of as she looks down at Jill from Heaven.
