The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: J.T. Isn’t Going Anywhere – Longterm Fit in Genoa City

Thad Luckinbill (J.T. Hellstrom) advised that his return to ‘The Young and the Restless’ will last until early next year, or beyond, depending upon what develops. Luckinbill was leaving his options open, while also not telegraphing storyline angles. He’s a smart daytime actor who should be a longterm fixture at Y&R.

Sure, it’s possible that Luckinbill intends to work approximately three months, as has been tentatively projected, and then head back to producing movies like La La Land and other Hollywood features. SAG-AFTRA members must meet minimum work requirements to maintain their health insurance. Luckinbill easily meets that standard in 2017 and already has a contract in place for enough days of employment in 2018 on Y&R. J.T. and Reed (Tristan Lake Leabu) had a good sit-down at the Genoa City Athletic Club. Mattie’s (Lexie Stevenson) love had been avoiding his dad for a modern reason. It’s called teenage angst, when in reality (or on television) this situation purely involved a son wanting his father’s love.

Reed felt that his dad’s attention was diverted after Mackenzie (Clementine Ford) gave birth to Dylan and Rebecca, two characters who were said to have come into existence after Luckinbill and Ford departed.

A father makes a difference in a child’s life. That’s a timeless declarative statement that isn’t logically countered by other opinions, as all fair-minded sons and daughters know. The same attack should also never be made against good mother’s, as they are equally important.

As Y&R viewers recall, Vickie (Amelia Heinle) lost custody of Reed to J.T. prior to Luckinbill leaving the cast. However, that matter was basically centered on Victor’s (Eric Braeden) nefarious influence in Vickie’s life. An entire digital column, or a series of features, would be needed to discuss ‘Moustache’ issues. Let’s maintain focus on J.T., Vickie and Reed instead.

Vickie’s ex-husband took Reed to Washington D.C. and then, more recently, wanted their son to move with him to Poland. Reed rebelled and arrived at his mom’s doorstep on New Year’s Eve as the recast Leabu debuted.

J.T. said that he wants Reed to decide if he wants to live with him, or not. Reed appreciated his dad’s respect, which hopefully leads to their strong relationship being reestablished.

Y&R fans foresee a scenario where J.T. and Reed are together. But that wouldn’t be in Poland. No, it would (will) happen in Genoa City, which could also mean that ‘Mac’ and the kids will eventually be coming as well.
