The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Hilary Attempts to Shift – Genoa City Power Players Protected

Jordan (Darnell Kirkwood) isn’t a power player in on ‘The Young and the Restless’. But Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) is. That’s why Hilary (Mishael Morgan) purposely went after her ex-boyfriend and gave information about him to Mrs. Newman.

The owner of GC Buzz has recently come to believe that it’s in her best interests to develop her reputation. Instead of profiteering off everyone’s lives, Hilary has begun a targeted campaign. She’s bought into the philosophy that aiding Genoa City’s elite will further her career and life goals.

The host of the ‘Hilary Hour’ learned that Jordan was paid to take clandestine photos of Nikki and Jack (Peter Bergman) awhile back. As viewers recall, Graham (Max Shippee) paid to have that dirt dug. Then he sent those black and white images to Victor (Eric Braeden). Graham attached Dina’s (Marla Adams) return address label in order to provoke Jack.

Hilary apparently doesn’t know about Graham’s involvement. He’s not a member of the upper crust and might not be part of the GC scene for much longer. If he sticks these two similar personality types would be ripe for pairing.

Nikki received a signal from Hilary along with the aforementioned photos. Mrs. Newman has an influential member of the media in her corner. Vickie (Amelia Heinle) received a similar overture from Hilary in recent weeks as well.

Media, an ever-changing term for sure, can be used as a tool to influence public perception. Hilary has decided that her life will be easier to navigate if she’s able to forge helpful relationships with those elite individuals. Doing so then provides those people, their families and businesses with an ally. Hilary gains access to power and therefore a place at the table.

GC power players maintain their status via control. Orchestrated events are preferred and further goals. When life’s crises strike, damage control must be applied. Who better to help in all regards than the owner of GC Buzz, who has an influential website and connected streaming television show?
