Cane (Daniel Goddard) didn’t believe he would ever leave his family on ‘The Young and the Restless’. But he grudgingly accepted that reality after Lily (Christel Khalil) decided ‘Lane’ was over. Yes, Juliet’s (Laur Allen) plan worked.
Whether Juliet targeted Cane since Tokyo may never be known. If she did, that was diabolical. If she didn’t, then she and Cane merely made a bad decision. But at least they are acting responsibly now.

Being forced out of one’s home isn’t pleasant, but Cane acceded to Lily’s request. Cane’s ouster seemed logical, at first blush. He did wrong and has been punished by loosing access to his family. That appears to make sense, especially considering the theft of the twin’s school tuition in order to pay Jesse (Max Adler) the blackmailer.
But Lily cavorted with Joe (Scott Elrod) for awhile, not just once as ‘Jane’ did. Y&R fans don’t recall Cane forcing Lily out of the Ashby house permanently because it never happened. Yet, that was that and everyone is where they are now. Everyone can decide for themselves if both situations represent justice, or when compared if they are equal.
Lily has already moved toward Jordan (Darnell Kirkwood). He’s waited patiently and really hasn’t been playing a game, as Cane’s suspects. Jordan was Lily’s friend and simply has been supporting her. Now that she’s ended her relationship with him, it’s likely that this pair will become a full-blown romantic couple.
Juliet’s placenta problem is real. This health issue has already pulled Cane closer. He’s sincerely concerned and now, also sees Juliet as a good person. In other words, this pair is bonding.
Of course, the baby has inspired Cane’s change of heart. But Lily’s turn has also pushed him further into Juliet’s sphere and eventually, her arms.
The placenta matter might mean that Juliet loses the baby, or dies in childbirth. Hopefully, neither of those tragic results happen. So, Cane seems destined to officially form a full second family. Therefore, Juliet’s plan, no matter when it was first conceived, has worked.
