The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Ashley Tells Ravi the Truth – Rashley Still Great

Ravi (Abhi Sinha) was understandably upset on ‘The Young and the Restless’. He drove to the upper part of Wisconsin to obtain the apparent best pie in the state, then brought it to the Abbott house on Thanksgiving. Much to his surprise, Ashley (Eileen Davidson) took the food gift, but told him that he wasn’t actually invited for dinner.

Ashley wasn’t able to explain matters at the time, but she will soon tell the man who she’s grown fond of this year all needed details. Dina (Marla Adams) has Alzheimer’s, which Ashley and Jack (Peter Bergman) just confirmed. They gathered their family members on the national holiday in order to explain the situation. It wouldn’t have been appropriate for Ravi to have been present while that happened.

Ravi seems sure to accept Ashley’s explanation when it’s offered. Based upon his demeanor to-date, he’ll also offer his full support to her and Dina moving forward.

Former co-executive producer and head writer Sally Sussman and her team created this heart-warming pair prior to departing Y&R. ‘Rashley’ represents a feel-good couple that works on many levels.

The pairing of Ravi and Ashley was slow to evolve, which helped to make their relationship believable. Sinha is a solid addition to the cast, as he’s taken the scripts and fully developed an initial poor soul character into a hopeful Genoa City mainstay.

Ravi’s vulnerability and sense of humor has allowed Ashley to move away from the type-A personality types that Sinha’s alter ego said she needs to avoid. After having often tried and failed to make things work with the Victor’s (Eric Braeden) of the world, Ashley went with her gut and embraced Ravi earlier this year.

‘Rashley’ doesn’t seem close to engagement at this point. It would seem most appropriate for executive producer and now-head writer Mal Young to continue to allow this duo to simmer indefinitely, which assumes that he opts to keep Ravi and Ashley together. Here’s hoping he does, as viewers enjoy rooting for two well-matched people.
