The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Abby Humiliated Again – Newman Enterprises May Not Be Her Destiny

Vickie (Amelia Heinle) intentionally humiliated Abby (Melissa Ordway) during Thanksgiving dinner on ‘The Young and the Restless’. The verbal assault was Victor’s (Eric Braeden) first-born’s latest attempt to push Abby out of Newman Enterprises.

As hardcore viewers recall, Abby was preparing for Vickie’s games last Christmas. That family get-together came long before Brash and Sassy tanked, due to Vickie’s poor management skills. All the while Abby was working away at Newman, doing everything that her father asked of her and more.

Yes, Design Date proved to be a disaster and is the reason why Newman’s assets are currently frozen and the global conglomerate has been shamed. But as Abby noted, Victor’s own investigative team found nothing in Zack’s (Ryan Ashton) background. So she merely shares blame for not having seen through that criminal’s slick veneer.

Victor plays chess with life, using people as pieces. So it surely seems possible that he anticipated Vickie would face difficulties in running Brash and Sassy and projected it as an eventual takeover target. Whether that was his motive when he encouraged Vickie to buy Jill (Jess Walton) out isn’t yet known and never may be.

Two independent points currently hold true. Abby would grudgingly admit to the first, but not the second. Victoria is the more experienced executive. That’s why Victor installed her as Chief Executive Officer. Second, Abby doesn’t have a long track record in business and her experience has produced mixed results.

However, Victor didn’t have to use the Top of the Tower party to announce Vickie’s return. He withheld that information from Abby, which is a form of a lie. He also didn’t have to green-light Vickie’s press release that made Abby look guilty, when she was actually being held hostage.

Y&R fans know that Vickie takes after her father. Following his lead, she immediately talked down to Abby after Ordway’s character attempted to take the high road after learning Vickie was back in charge. Then, Vickie used the Thanksgiving dinner table to insult Abby in hopes of pushing her buttons.

Abby understandably felt compelled to leave the Ranch and head to the Abbott mansion. Upon arriving Abby’s fans hoped she was considering working for Jabot, rather than remaining under Vickie’s oppressive thumb.
