Young & The Restless

The Young and the Restless (YR) Poll: Who Will Enjoy the Best Christmas?

There are many characters on ‘The Young and the Restless’. All Genoa City residents can’t be covered in one digital space. So, lets focus on the realized Christmas wishes of three specific people.

Cane (Daniel Goddard) brings Sam home for Christmas. After a horrid year, this gift proves to be amazing for Mr. Ashby and his expanded family at the Chancellor mansion.

Yes, it would have been better to be reunited with Lily (Christel Khalil). But spending time with the son who almost didn’t make it and the twins overrides other issues that aren’t yet lost causes.

Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) rekindles her love with Victor (Eric Braeden) while wearing an orange jump suit. Being arrested and spending the yuletide season in prison wouldn’t normally be considered joyful. But this is the soap world we are referencing.

Is a wife’s shifting of her husband’s funds to an offshore account really a crime? It’s not as though Nikki spent the cash, or used it for some other purpose. That dough still exists and can be explained away as part of ‘Niktor’s’ momentary marital rift. Victor won’t allow the love of his life to suffer, for long.

Dina (Marla Adams) had three children with a good man. She blew her marriage to John (Jerry Douglas) ages ago, but found another good man. Madame Mergeron eventually led Marcel’s company and became an accomplished business woman. However, Dina longed to make peace with her offspring and has accomplished that goal.

Adams’ return to Y&R this year proved to be greatly satisfying as an outstandingly crafted Alzheimer’s storyline continues to play out.

Y&R’s embrace of a serious topic that is affecting millions of lives is one of the most heart-warming in many years. Furthering that storyline will be Dina’s special Christmas with Jack (Peter Bergman), Ashley (Eileen Davidson), Traci (Beth Maitland) and her granddaughter Abby (Melissa Ordway). This holiday season could be the last one where Dina is able to appreciate her loved ones.
