The Young and the Restless (YR) Poll: Team Ashley or Team Graham? Vote!

Ashley (Eileen Davidson) and Graham (Max Shippee) appear to be related on ‘The Young and the Restless’. While this plot point hasn’t yet been fully confirmed, soapy circumstantial evidence indicates that Brent Davis (Bert Kramer) fathered both children. But do Y&R viewers support Team Ashley or Team Graham?

This specific choice must be further defined, as it doesn’t ask readers to choose who they favor. Instead, the underlying question is whether they want Ashley to force Graham out of Genoa City before he’s able to confirm if they are siblings?

It is reasonable to ask how could anyone possibly back Graham? Well, he’s simply being loyal to his undead mother, Myrna (played by veteran character actor Marcia Rodd), for starters.

Graham is curious to learn whether Ashley is his sister, which is natural. Whether he actually shares Myrna’s contempt for Dina (Marla Adams), now that he’s gotten to know her, is a deeper issue to consider. That point may also play into how far Graham is willing to take his mother’s revenge plan.

The recently revelation that Graham isn’t alone in the world caused him to create a cover story. He proffered that Myrna is an aunt that he’s helping to take care of for many years.

As viewers have been lead to believe, Myrna appears to be Graham’s mother who was married to Brent in the 1960’s. That was before Y&R debuted on CBS in 1973.

Regarding this invented backstory, the Davis clan was disrupted by Dina having cavorted with Brent. That led to the end of her marriage with John (Jerry Douglas), Ashley learning in the 1980’s that Brent was her father and subsequently being estranged from Dina until recently.

The connection between Dina and Brent created Ashley’s birth, thus seemingly making her Graham’s half-brother. He’s not a full sibling brother because Dina isn’t Graham’s mother.

As Ashley has known for many years, Dina’s reckless decision means that Jack (Peter Bergman) and Traci (Beth Maitland) aren’t full siblings either. But those two Abbott’s will defend their half-sister if all is revealed.
