Devoted viewers of ‘The Young and the Restless’ likely have more than three wishes on their Christmas gift list this season. Savvy fans always have great ideas about the show they love. So let’s review some popular requests.
Kristoff St. John fully recovers and returns to work
St. John has played Neil Winters since 1991. Prior to joining the cast of Y&R he was part of NBC’s Generations’ cast. That soap’s short tenure (1989-1991) proved a boon to Genoa City fans, as Neil became one of its most endearing residents.

Soap fans are familiar with the tragic loss of St. John’s son Julian three years ago. The actor was and remains naturally affected. He began receiving treatment in October. Encouragingly, he sent positive social media messages to his fans in recent weeks, letting them know that he was progressing.
Everyone wishes St. John well and looks forward to seeing him return to Y&R when he’s able to.
Lane gets back together.
Yes, Lily (Christel Khalil) and Cane (Daniel Goddard) are in a far better place in their relationship now then they have been in many months. Juliet’s (Laur Allen) death appears to have been used by the writing staff to facilitate this well-liked couple’s reconciliation.
It would be a shame to see the addition of two solid young actors, Lexie Stevenson (Mattie) and Noah Alexander Gerry (Charlie), and then have their character’s parents get divorced. Here’s hoping that Mal Young believes in restoring a functional family within this soap’s world.
Marla Adams stays on the show
It would be great to see Y&R continue to address the effects of Alzheimer’s by not shipping Dina off to a facility. A storyline about this specific issue has never been explored on a longterm basis in Genoa City. Continuing to do so would be challenging, but also useful.
Many within the audience can surely relate to the vexing issues that surround this horrid disease. Daytime drama can serve as a worthwhile daily refuge for those who choose to transfer some of their feelings about topics that affect their real lives. Therefore, Dina’s journey should be followed indefinitely.
