“The Young and the Restless” spoilers for Tuesday, January 3, tease that Victor (Eric Braeden) will get a big surprise. At Victoria’s (Amelia Heinle) place, Victor is stunned to learn that Reed (Tristan Lake Leabu) is in town. Reed hugs Victor and they chat for a minute. After the teen heads upstairs, Victor asks Victoria what’s going on.
Victoria gives Victor updates on the situation. He’s pleased by the news that Reed will be around to get to know the family. Later, Reed asks Victoria why she didn’t mention his arrival to Victor. She promises that she’s glad Reed is in Genoa City. Victoria wants her son to feel at home. “The Young and the Restless” fans will be anxious to see how Reed adjusts.
At GC Buzz, Mariah (Camryn Grimes) is informed that Devon (Bryton James) was in a serious accident. She leaves right away. At the hospital, Lily (Christel Khalil) asks Neil (Kristoff St. John) what Devon’s doctors have told him. She turns to Hilary (Mishael Morgan) and blasts her for causing this ordeal.
Mariah walks in and Hilary shifts the blame to her. Stitch (Sean Carrigan) appears and says Devon is out of surgery. He’s in the ICU and certainly isn’t out of the woods yet. Devon has a terrible concussion and there’s been significant damage to his internal organs.
Lily and Neil walk off with Stitch, so Hilary resumes her rant at Mariah. She thinks Devon’s life is at stake and Mariah is partially responsible. Hilary tells Mariah to go do the show because she can’t leave Devon. Mariah looks like she’s feeling guilty as she heads out. Back at GC Buzz, Mariah tells viewers about Devon’s crash and reveals that reruns will air for the time being.
By Devon’s bedside, Hilary expresses how much she loves him. She apologizes for her lies and her role in his awful situation. Hilary just wants Devon to come back to her. Lily is up next. She cries as she tells Devon she’ll do anything if he’ll pull through. Lily notes that she’ll be Hilary’s best friend if that’s what it takes.
A short time later, Devon begins to shake and the monitors go off. Stitch steps in and shocks Devon’s heart to keep him alive. Hilary and Lily embrace as they watch. Meanwhile, Noah (Robert Adamson) gives Faith (Alyvia Alyn Lind) some advice at Crimson Lights. He warns that her current living arrangement must be temporary.
Faith admits she doesn’t want to hurt her parents. She states that she spent New Year’s Eve with Nick (Joshua Morrow). Noah suggests that Faith should keep it up. Nick and Sharon (Sharon Case) need Faith in their lives.
At the ranch, Sharon demands to see Faith and searches upstairs. When she comes back down, Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) says Faith went out with Noah. Sharon is sorry for being pushy, but Nikki worries that something’s up. She questions her about Dylan (Steve Burton) and Sharon suggests that their relationship is OK. She mentions Dylan’s new mission.
Once Faith returns with Noah, she wants to know if she can spend time with Sharon. They head off, so Noah chats with Nikki. They discuss Sharon’s struggles, but Nikki thinks she’ll be fine with Dylan’s support. Victor shows up and shares that Reed is back.
After Noah leaves, Nikki confesses that she’s concerned about Dylan. Victor thinks maybe making a phone call would ease Nikki’s mind. She dials the number and Faith hears Dylan’s phone ring at Sharon’s place. She asks why Dylan didn’t take his cell and wedding ring. Sharon notes that Dylan is after some bad guys and he doesn’t want them to know who he really is.
Nikki leaves Dylan a voicemail and fills Victor in on Faith’s visit with Sharon. He suggests that Faith needs to see her mom. Victor believes it will help both of them. Y&R rumors hint that Sharon will definitely need some support in the coming weeks. Stick with the CBS soap to see what’s in store.
