The Young and The Restless Star Kate Linder Suffers A Devastating Loss

‘The Young and the Restless’ star Kate Linder has just shared devastating news with her fans. Kate, who is best known for her role as Esther Valentine on the hit daytime soap, announced that her husband Dr. Ronald Linder has passed away. The couple have been married since 1976.

Kate first met her husband in San Francisco while she was a drama student at the San Francisco State University. Dr. Linder worked as a professor at the school before joining the faculty in Public Health and Medicine at UCLA. The couple married on Valentine’s Day in 1976. It was also the reason why her character was named Esther Valentine.

Kate’s co-stars have been sharing their condolences on social media. Actor Tristan Rogers, who plays Colin Atkinson on the show, shared a throwback photo of the couple and wrote on his Twitter account, “My condolences to my dear friend and colleague Kate Linder on the sad passing of her husband Ron. My total sympathy.”

Dr. Ronald Linder has helped support Kate over the years and was by her side when she earned her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Together, the couple was also very active with several different charities including TV Cares, ATAS’s AIDS fundraising and awareness organization, the Make-a-Wish Foundation, and national spokesperson for March of Dimes Canada’s Conductive Education Program.

So far Kate herself has not made any additional comments about her husband’s death. Kate has also made no indication on whether or not she plans on taking a hiatus from ‘The Young and the Restless’ to mourn her husband or if she continues to work.
