The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Victor’s Warning To Chelsea Is Wise – Nick’s Welfare At Stake

Victor (Eric Braeden) was wise to warn Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) on ‘The Young and the Restless’. After learning that ‘Chick’ had formed, Papa Newman reminded his daughter-in-law that it was best to keep Christian’s (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen) paternity secret. However, this existing issue clearly keeps Chelsea in a vexing predicament.

Yes, Adam (Justin Hartley) didn’t want to tell his brother that he was Christian’s father. At the time that little boy was believed to have died and Adam didn’t want to add to Nick’s (Joshua Morrow) burden. However, since last summer, Sully reverted to his original moniker and Adam apparently was blown to smithereens, which when capitalized with an S is also a reference to a New Jersey-based rock band that cranked out some hits in the 1980’s and 1990’s. That’s when something called a radio ruled the airwaves and soap operas still ruled daytime.

Chelsea and Nick progressed through proper grieving periods after their spouses died. Sage’s (Kelly Sullivan) passing nearly a year ago was spurned after she confronted Sharon (Sharon Case) about Sully’s true identity. Adam seemingly left Genoa City in September through Chloe’s (Elizabeth Hendrickson) doing.

Y&R has gingerly handled the burgeoning relationship between Chelsea and Nick in a manner that is digestible. Viewers know both characters would, in all likelihood, not be together save for Sage and Hartley’s exits from the cast. Yet, whether loyal fans like this new pairing or not, they should admit that Sally Sussman and her team have written a solid opening for ‘Chick’.

Chelsea knows that if she doesn’t tell Nick the truth and it’s eventually revealed, her credibility would be crushed. However, if she does opt to tell him at any point some type of explanation will be demanded. That subsequent explanation, no matter how sincere would also put the new relationship they’ve formed in jeopardy, or even destroy it.

Adam’s request is now ‘Only A Memory’. Yes, that was a Smithereens’ song reference. It’s also a tune that seems destined to be back-dropped whenever a retrospective for ‘Chick’ is offered after Christian’s paternity reveal takes place.
