The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Lauren Leery of Sharon – Scott Tells Mom to Be Grateful

Lauren (Tracey Bregman) is concerned about Scott (Daniel Hall) on ‘The Young and the Restless’. He’s just started dating Sharon (Sharon Case), which could prove problematic. While she’s hardly like Sheila (Kimberlin Brown), Miss Collins has had her issues in the past. But does that make future trouble certain?

Like many people, Lauren is deeply aware of Sharon’s history. But Scott wants him mom to consider that the past isn’t the present and everyone has a backstory. Plus, he’s decided to make a life for himself in Genoa City like she wanted.

Of course Sharon’s personal dramas fell under the often misunderstood shadow of her bipolar disorder. Society openly announces its admiration when various so-called physical diseases are battled. But the mention of a mental disorder appears to spark few running club events for whatever cause is currently being celebrated.

The brain is a physical object. And Sharon’s brain appears to be something that Lauren is afraid of. In reality Mrs. Baldwin appears to be allowing her terrible memories of Sheila to be influencing her thoughts about Sharon.

As Y&R viewers know, Sheila actually isn’t dead. Oh Lauren killed a woman who looked like Phyllis (then played by Michelle Stafford in a dual role), but claimed to be Sheila 10 years ago. But fans of ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ now know that Brown has returned to daytime and her character is alive and well.

The couple that can be dubbed ‘Shott’ (Sharon plus Scott) is just getting started. Basically the writing staff put Scott in Dylan’s slot within Sharon’s life, as viewers have seen. However, Case’s character is currently in the process of being legitimately restored to her former strong self.

Sharon is following her medication schedule, is the owner of Crimson Lights (via Dylan) and is taking courses in college. Lauren’s understandable protective nature will persist, but possibly in time she’ll see that Sharon has made progress and she’ll give her a chance to succeed with Scott. Of course later this year, whenever Sheila inevitably returns to Genoa City, Sharon will look great in contrast as well.
