‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Jack Made Amazing Mistake – Gloria Now Holds Upper Hand

How could Jack (Peter Bergman) possibly allow himself to be put in this position on ‘The Young and the Restless’? Yet he did and now Gloria (Judith Chapman) holds the upper hand. All bets are off, as few would be wise to place a wager on Jack winning this looming fight with his two-time ex-mother-in-law.

He wanted to take over Fenmore’s. In order to do that Jack was open to using Gloria as a moll and, in his mind, a pawn. Gloria followed through on her end, providing key information that thwarted the sincere efforts of two businessmen who were willing to become Lauren’s (Tracey Bregman) silent partners.

All Gloria wanted in return for the duplicitous efforts made against her daughter-in-law was a worthwhile position in the merged company. While Jack eventually reached an agreement with Lauren, he was head-faked out of majority control. Plus he had to agree to an additional 25 percent pay-in above what he originally offered.

So last week Jack and Gloria were licking their wounds at the Top of the Tower. After consuming far too many of the wrong type of liquids they unexpectedly became entangled in each other’s arms and the rest will be left unwritten.

In the real world Bergman and Chapman are in their 60’s. Their characters on this soap opera are within the same age range as well. But longtime viewers know their history. Combine that point with their personalities and ‘Gack’, or ‘Glack’ if one prefers should never be Y&R’s next super couple.

Jack is refusing to follow through on his end of the bargain, citing his 49 percent Fenmore’s stake as the reason. Gloria is furious, many would say rightfully.

Considering all of the above, it should come as no surprise that Gloria will publicly go after Jack on GC Buzz. The gag order both characters shook on inside the Genoa City Athletic Club suite is therefore rendered null and void. Oh what an engaging storyline this has become!
