“The Young and the Restless” spoilers for Friday, January 27, tease that Jack (Peter Bergman) will make plans for a merger. At Jabot, Jack has a contract for Lauren (Tracey E. Bregman) to sign. Ashley (Eileen Davidson) urges Jack to shred it and move on, but he intends to fight for what he wants.
At Top of the Tower, Eric Forrester (John McCook) finds Lauren. He wonders why she waited so long to call him. Eric suggests that his company means a lot to him and he knows Lauren feels the same way about Fenmore’s. They recall warm memories and share a toast. Lauren gets a little worried when a text comes in from Jack, but Eric offers reassurance.
In Jack’s office, he presents Lauren with a contract. She insists that she’s going to pass. Lauren reveals that she has a better offer on the table. Eric comes in and notes that he’s willing to let Lauren retain control of Fenmore’s. Unless Jack can make his bid more desirable, Lauren knows what she has to do.
Jack reluctantly changes his cut of the company to 49 percent. He also bumps up the amount of money he’s offering. Lauren tells Jack to fix all the paperwork and she’ll make the deal. After she happily waltzes out with Eric, Ashley implies that Jack’s ego got the best of him.

Elsewhere, Lauren and Eric revel in their victory. Eric wants Lauren to let him know if Jack tries to cause any more problems. Lauren thanks Eric for all his help. Meanwhile, Sharon (Sharon Case) maintains that she wants to leave with Dylan (Steve Burton). She thinks the kids will be fine until the cops catch Fisk’s (Scott Speiser) team.
Paul (Doug Davidson) shows up and sends Sharon to get Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott). While Sharon is gone, Dylan has a deep conversation with Paul. He knows he can’t stay in Genoa City right now, but he asks about the possibility of returning one day. Paul expresses doubt since Fisk’s goons won’t give up.
As for Sharon, the only way she could come is if she changed her appearance and cut off contact with her children. Dylan understands that he has to leave his old life behind. He shares some sweet moments with Paul, who regrets letting him take this assignment.
At the ranch, Sharon sends Nikki over to see Dylan while she talks to Victor (Eric Braeden) about Faith (Alyvia Alyn Lind). Victor can sense that Sharon is upset. Back at the house, Nikki gets updates on the dangerous situation and makes peace with the fact that Dylan has to go. She breaks down in tears and notes that they haven’t had enough time together. Dylan also falls apart as he hugs his mom.
Kevin (Greg Rikaart) appears with info on Dylan’s new identity. When Sharon returns, she announces that she’s going to pack. Paul and Kevin give them some time alone. Dylan insists he has to do this by himself, but he’ll always love and remember Sharon.

Sharon states that Dylan stayed after she lied to him. She’s grateful for his love and forgiveness. Sharon puts Dylan’s wedding ring on his finger. They share one last passionate kiss before Dylan heads off. Sharon sobs as Dylan walks out of sight. Nikki heads home and gives Victor the news about Dylan. He comforts his wife and encourages her to stay strong.
It sounds like this “The Young and the Restless” is going to bring some serious waterworks. Y&R rumors hint that Sharon will struggle in the coming weeks, but she’ll find happiness again down the road. Stick with the CBS soap to see what’s in store.
