Come on Jack (Peter Bergman), how long are you going to behave like you’re six-years-old on ‘The Young and the Restless’? Oh yes, that’s why your nickname is ‘Jackie-boy’. Billy (Jason Thompson) has screwed up many times in the past, but in this instance your the rogue.
Hey, Billy wronged Jack. There’s no doubt or argument about that point. But controlling how the elder Abbott responds to that unexpected and devastating gut punch isn’t the point. However, Jack doesn’t hold indefinite rights on lashing out at Billy, or whoever indefinitely.

Jack caught wind of Billy’s overtures with the Professional Hockey League while on a recent business trip. Big brother (no, not a reference to CBS’ somewhat surprisingly enduring reality show) made contact with a head honcho on the Board of Governors, which is the same term the National Hockey League uses for its overlords, and bad-mouthed Billy.

Wouldn’t any professional think badly of Jack for talking trash about his own brother and nix Jabot’s effort to enter the bidding to become the PHL’s sole supplier of men’s grooming products? This scribe thinks so. But Jack can’t, or doesn’t want to see past his rage and merely wanted to hook Billy (again) for the ‘Philly’ debacle.
As savvy fans know, Thompson is a native Canadian and a solid fan of that country’s great past time. So this plot point dovetails nicely with the likeable actor’s personal interests. Whether real life NHL players make future appearances in Genoa City is yet to be seen, but certainly seems like a telegraphed possibility.
After the brothers fought off the ice, Vickie (Amelia Heinle) discovered damning information that Gloria (Judith Chapman) told to Mariah (Camryn Grimes) on a GC Buzz expose that didn’t fully stream. ‘Villy’ and ‘Glack’ faced off in Brash and Sassy’s office, Vickie forced Jack to recant and then gave him the flash drive that contained Chlorisa’s (Gloria’s) shelved interview.

Billy tried to make peace with Jack (again). And what does his immature brother do when offered a fourth, or fifth olive branch? Jack pursed his lip into a sneer and told Billy to get lost. John Abbott Senior (Jerry Douglas) was a gentleman. His namesake is hardly behaving like a chip off the old block.
