The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Victor’s Problems Split Between Personal and Business – Family in Chaos While Newman Enterprises is Undermined

Victor (Eric Braeden) was recently betrayed by his son and wife on ‘The Young and the Restless’. At least that’s how he sees it. But what the ‘Moustache’ isn’t aware of is the imminent danger his daughter Abby (Melissa Ordway) has put Newman Enterprises into by investing in the front of what actually is a criminal ring.

Zack’s (Ryan Ashton) pitch to Abby was bought without extensive questioning. Whatever background check Miss Newman conducted about his dating application, or about the man himself wasn’t strong enough. Design Date is a front for a human trafficking ring.

The idea that Victor’s legitimate business has invested capital in a criminal enterprise puts Newman in legal jeopardy. The connected public relations issues that will result from that fact seem inevitable, especially in this social media age where anonymous users smear corporations and individuals as a perverse form of sport.

As during many past times in his life, business has served as Victor’s refuge. He’s been very pleased with Abby’s loyalty to him and has rewarded her with significant authority at the office.

Victor currently believes that his greatest battle involves Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) conspiring against him. His assessment appears apt on both accounts.

Nick’s hostility has wounded Victor so deeply that he’s responded vengefully. Doing so might be distracting him from clearly assessing Abby’s incubator projects, including the one Zack heads.

Nikki’s latest moral outrage has resulted in another ‘Niktor’ split. Both parties have taken each other for granted so often through the years. Each person must believe the other is immortal, because they time they’ve spent apart can never be regained. Their eventual end of days on this earth could arrive at any moment, though that point seems unacknowledged.

No resolution is in the offing where Nick and Nikki are concerned. The coming crisis Newman will be thrust into by Zack’s diabolical dealings will then force Victor to battle on two fronts. How much can this mature man take before he physically, or mentally bursts?
