Nikki’s (Melody Thomas Scott) plan hinges on everyone giving Victor the cold should, while also not turning him into the authorities. She’s right to believe that all things Newman would collapse if the public ever learned about Victor’s most recent misguided actions.

Victor’s recruitment of Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) to frame Adam (Justin Hartley) also led to that character’s perceived death. Rumors of an Adam recast could mean that storyline results in Victor’s redemption.

Nick (Joshua Morrow) has often distanced himself from his father. He left Newman Enterprises cold turkey on various occasions, only to return at later points. However, his investment in The Underground has lasted a few years. Except for the period during Victor’s imprisonment last year, Nick has created his own life and has become mostly independent.

Victoria (Amelia Heinle) sports the female version of her father’s name. She’ll always be his first-born child, which establishes a deeper bond than with any other offspring. Yes, she’s mad at him now and is going along with her mom’s shunning plan. But she’ll cool off and come around.

Victor surprised Nikki when he told her that he canceled his biography project. That could indicate an opening, but a full-blown ‘Niktor’ reunion doesn’t seem likely in the near future. Hey, what the ‘Moustache’ did was awful as he ran amuck one more time. But he didn’t intend any harm to Nikki, Victoria or Nick through those efforts and didn’t fully consider how his family would be impacted if his plans went awry, which they did.

That point alone must dock the Newman’s collective outrage in a fleeting, but not permanent port. After awhile this Newman square will be circled again. It has to happen because that’s part of Y&R’s enduring arc for its lead family.
