‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Victoria Tells Cane Who’s Boss – Workplace Pressure Builds

Winning creates consequences in real life and on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Cane (Daniel Goddard) knew Vickie’s (Amelia Heinle) buyout maneuver would push him out of power. The check Jill (Jess Walton) received for Brash and Sassy may not have cleared yet, but Cane has already been sidelined in his workplace now that a new boss has seized power.

Cane made the call about hiring Jordan (Darnell Kirkwood) for what was to be a one-off photo shoot.

Vickie has unilaterally decided that this photographer has what it takes to be a full member of her staff. So her hiring decision made sense.

A personal angle is in play where Vickie’s seemingly mild business choice is concerned. Cane didn’t know that Jordan and Lily (Christel Khalil) knew each other from their ‘Fresh Face of Jabot’ days.

He regretted recruiting the photog as soon as he learned that historical fact and then tried to mask his feelings thereafter.

For her part, Vickie has every right to hire whomever she wants. Jordan appears to be a well-respected member of his profession and will likely add to Brash and Sassy’s cache in the world of glamour. Vickie also didn’t retain Jordan in order to create a wedge between Cane and his wife.

The battle for control is already underway. As long as Vickie remains sole owner of the once-Newman Enterprises division that she first led, Cane will be at a full disadvantage. He was initially promised the chance to own a one-third share of the company and later tried to purchase it on his own, but couldn’t raise the capital.

It seems to merely to be a matter of time before Cane will feel forced to quit, or will be fired by Victoria. Mr Ashby is in no mood to work under Miss Newman’s thumb and has come to believe that Genoa City society has slighted his efforts to advance once again.

The potential of Cane creating a backlash for his wife in their shared workplace now also exists. However, ‘Lane’ seems more likely to clash repeatedly based upon recent disagreements. And that could prove to be the worst outcome of the tension that’s developing at Brash and Sassy.
