Vickie (Amelia Heinle) has taken Billy (Jason Thompson) for granted on ‘The Young and the Restless’. She can’t be totally blamed for having done so in the past. But Billy’s been solid in 2017 and Vickie should recognize reality. Reed (Tristan Lake Leabu) needs a father figure in his life and Billy is that man.

Gratitude isn’t a Newman family trait. Instead this entitled bunch often expects everyone to do as their told, both in the business world and in their personal lives. Billy falls into this class, as viewers have once again seen.

Reed is a good soul, but his life has been obviously influenced by the so-called modern world.
Behaving disrespectfully toward one’s parents is a creation of the mid- to late-twentieth century. That’s when academic minds began pushing unfounded propaganda about child-rearing en masse,
These real life characters pretended that their theories were facts in order to engineer society, while also making money. A main pseudo science pillar held the ego above all else, as children raising their parents became the fad.
Various children, like Vickie (then played by Heather Tom, 1991-2003), grew up in dysfunctional homes. Daddy and mommy were constantly at war and always trying to top the other. Instead of consistent structure, Miss Vickie’s mind saw chaos as normal. Many years later Heinle’s version of Victoria was unable to sustain a relationship with J.T. (Thad Luckinbill), their family was destroyed and the then-child Reed (Max Page from 2009-2016) left her life.

J.T. has held custody of their son for many years. The now-teenager ran away from home on New Year’s Eve. His arrival at Vickie’s doorstep came via a police escort, as he didn’t have enough money to pay his bus fare.
However, Billy’s calm guidance and availability has helped Vickie to make significant progress with Reed in recent weeks. While destructive pop culture ideas will likely continue to influence this young man, Vickie will be in a better position to respond if she keeps Billy in her life. Better yet, she should remarry the man instead of pushing him away again. And Billy bashing wasn’t included in this piece because the focus was solely on Victoria Newman.
