Vickie (Amelia Heinle) had no idea that she was hiring trouble on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Cane (Daniel Goddard) spoke highly of Juliet (Laur Allen) during and after the Japan trip and then recommended her for Brash and Sassy’s open slot as its Asian region representative. His doing so seemingly ended what had actually become the Juliet threat, but much to Cane’s chagrin it didn’t.

When Vickie picked a more experienced person to fill the aforementioned position, Cane thought he was in the clear. His mega-sake bomb shots resulted in an unexpected encounter with Juliet that he didn’t recall. But she recalled what happened and stunned him with that apparent fact after arriving in Genoa City.

Whether Juliet’s claim is true, or she orchestrated the event is yet to be determined. In the meantime Cane believes her and that’s naturally causing him major angst, which establishes a likely tense work environment for both parties. The soapy mix thickens when Lily (Christel Khalil) told Mr. Ashby that she’s going to be closely connected to Juliet as well.
In the recent past, Vickie, Billy (Jason Thompson) and Cane clashed on a regular basis. For the most part, Vickie and Billy were going at each other. Cane was purely focused on the company, which kept it on track. Reed’s (Tristan Lake Leabu) arrival on New Year’s Eve set the stage for ‘Villy’s’ eventual breakthrough, which then put Cane at a strategic business disadvantage.

Jill (Jess Walton) offered to sell the company to the three parties she’d hired, but Vickie took her dad’s advice and bought her out entirely. That transaction led to Vickie later offering Cane a pacifier business meeting in Tokyo. Juliet was present because she knew the area and was a translator. She proved vital in helping to finalize a major deal, but has now morphed into a problem.
Cane feels he can’t tell Lily anything at this point. Juliet might be telling the truth, in which case she hasn’t taken advantage of him and simply needed a job. But their recent personal history makes future clashes in the workplace seemingly unavoidable.
