The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Victoria Finally Realizes Billy’s Worth – But Will He Choose Phyllis Instead?

Vickie (Amelia Heinle) treated Billy (Jason Thompson) badly on ‘The Young and the Restless’. The backstory of her latest emotional outburst is compelling, as Victor’s (Eric Braeden) reveal knocked the Newman family to the ground. But Vickie’s desire to apologize to Billy will be impacted by the somewhat surprising revival of ‘Philly’.

Billy happened to run into Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) at Crimson Lights this week. Then Phyllis left her cell phone on the table when she departed. Billy saw that critical piece of modern technology and decided to take it to Summer’s (Hunter King) gorgeous condominium where Phyllis lives with her daughter.

Jack (Peter Bergman) kicked Phyllis out of the Abbott mansion awhile ago. That happened because ‘Philly’ was exposed. Miss Summers has been floating in space ever since, committed to her job and not much else.

Billy and Phyllis were initially drawn to each other because of factors that involved their soul mates (Vickie and Jack respectively). There’s no doubt at this point that independent chemistry does exist between Thompson and Tognoni’s characters. But it’s fair to wonder if that’s enough to generate a sustainable relationship and how expected public reaction might impact a joint decision to unite.

Vickie has run hot and cold with Billy for years. His past actions gave her sufficient reason to have mixed feelings. More recently he’s been a stalwart confidant and a positive influence on Reed (Tristan Lake Leabu). That’s swayed her opinion Billy to positive territory.

Timing is often key to any two people connecting. So despite the fact that Vickie just harshly told Billy that she would never be with him again due to past scars, it did seem like ‘Villy’ was still possible.

How ironic if Billy decides to reject Vickie because he determines Phyllis is his better option. While hardcore viewers, including this scribe would have never thought a ‘Philly’ pairing possible during the Michelle Stafford-Billy Miller era, Tognoni and Thompson have the chops to explore this plot option.
