The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Victoria and Cane Both Ruthless – Daniel Goddard and Amelia Heinle Earn Praise

Cane (Daniel Goddard) was rightfully fired by Vickie (Amelia Heinle) on ‘The Young and the Restless’. However, the owner of Brash and Sassy is hardly without stain. Yes, both characters are ruthlessly battling each other in the professional world and now, in their personal lives.

A focused look at the work of each actor will be offered prior to exploring their alter egos. Y&R fans and soap opera devotees are likely familiar with Goddard and Heinle. However, it’s often worthwhile to underscore the now.

Daytime’s general five-day-a-week grind generates plenty of content to consider. Combine that with the opinion outlet that social media allows and it’s understandable that varying takes are offered on the professionals who work hard to make Genoa City come alive.

Goddard easily ranks with the most generous soap opera social media forces. The time he dedicates to fan interaction, especially through his Twitter feed affirms that he not only values those who support his vocation, but that he’s invested in promoting Y&R and thus his colleagues, as well.

Heinle followed Heather Tom, who initiated the SORAS’d version of this character. Tom’s work was strong, but Heinle has also delivered a consistent Vickie to the audience. Her work with the four actors who’ve played Billy in recent years should be defined as remarkable.

The multitask reality of Vickie’s life, balanced by her Newman heritage is brought to the fore in every scene. Heinle’s patented facial reactions to various players often add a comic touch as well.

Y&R has nicely pitted two strong actors in an emotionally escalating storyline. Moving from a professional confrontation to using their children as proxies has dramatically increased the tension between Cane and Victoria. Who, if either emerges victorious provides tautly compelling drama. Inserting Reed (Tristan Lake Leabu) and Mattie (Lexie Stevenson), two smart young actors in their own right, into this battle has made it all the more intriguing.

With whatever develops, Heinle and Goddard are sure to continue playing off each other’s strengths. Their games are upped through this welcomed collaboration.
