‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Victoria Acts on Victor’s Advice – Cane Feels Squeezed Out

Victor (Eric Braeden) encouraged Victoria (Amelia Heinle) to go for it on ‘The Young and the Restless’. And that’s exactly what she did. However, Cane (Daniel Goddard) rightfully feels squeezed out as a result.

Vickie plans to pitch her offer to become sole owner of Brash and Sassy to Jill (Jess Walton). Since the current head of this fashion enterprise wants to use expected proceeds to buy Jack’s (Peter Bergman) 49 percent stake in Fenmores’, consideration for one of her sons (Cane) might not be possible.

Cane was in touch with his broker twice during the last week. After initially feeling hopeful, his anticipated liquidation of personal assets didn’t prove viable. In addition to said liquidation, Mr. Ashby would have also needed to secure a loan to meet Jill’s anticipated price. He didn’t want to leverage his family’s security, so this buy-in attempt appears to be dashed.

Billy (Jason Thompson) isn’t playing both ends against the middle, but instead is choosing to hold steady in his unique position. After initially obtaining Brash and Sassy, he lost it to his mother. Then, he was allowed to work for Jill as a member of the current trio that she’s allowing to run the company.

With all of the above having taken place, Billy dually believes that Vickie has rights to take the company she founded back. If doing so also allows him to get, or stay on her good side then so be it as well.

Jill’s three-headed leadership committee never seemed intended to last forever. Collaboration was sporadic at best during a period that lasted less than a year. It will probably prove best to have one person head the company moving forward. And Vickie makes most sense as that choice because of her history with the business, the deep pockets she possesses and her spunk. Yes, a classic Mary Tyler Moore reference is still and always will be viable.

Cane is likely out of luck. If he doesn’t watch his mouth, he could also easily be out of a job and put Lily (Christel Khalil) in a precarious position with her just-revived modeling career.
