The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Victor Gave Family Silver Spoons – Nikki’s Behavior Is Appalling

Yes, Victor (Eric Braeden) has behaved badly on ‘The Young and the Restless’. There have been various incidents where he danced on or over the line of legality through the years. And it could be argued that he’s often micromanaged his family members. But Nikki’s (Melody Thomas Scott) behavior toward the man she claims to love has been appalling within the last week. Convincing Victor’s three remaining children to turn their backs on him also ranks with the worst actions that she’s ever taken.

So Victor recruited Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) to frame Adam (Justin Hartley) for the murder of Constance Bingham (Sally Kellerman). Sometimes a harsh lesson is best, right? The opportunity Victor allowed Chloe to have in that orchestrated resolution allowed her to cleanse her mind. But then she used her free will to go off the rails and that’s what eventually led to Adam’s apparent death.

Nick (Joshua Morrow) still doesn’t know that Christian (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen) is Adam’s biological child. Victor made a very compassionate decision in advising Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) to withhold that fact from him. Learning that Christian was Adam’s child would have devastated him.

Vickie (Amelia Heinle) came to own Brash and Sassy because her dad encouraged her to buy Jill (Jess Walton) out in full. Doing so allowed Vickie to reclaim the helm at the brand that she once founded at Newman.

As for Abby (Melissa Ordway), she’s been given a test drive in the CEO’s pace car. Any grateful child would be thankful that Victor allowed her to potentially take the reigns from him.

The idea that Victor’s family would turn on him in his time of need is incredible, but not impossible to believe. They’ve behaved badly toward him before. But instead of recognizing that his best chance at recovery and redemption exists with his loved ones standing by his side, a group decision has been made to freeze him out of their lives.

Hopefully, they’ll come to their senses before something terrible happens to this pure human being. If not, crocodile tears will fall and Nikki, Nick, Vickie and Abby won’t be able to forgive themselves. And hardcore Y&R fans also read between the lines of this generally tongue-in-cheek piece.
