The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Vickie Treats Billy Like Victor Treats Nikki – Newman Creed Applied

Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) wanted it all, but has been left with half on ‘The Young and the Restless’. She thought that Billy (Jason Thompson) would forever be waiting. Instead ‘Philly’s’ resurgence has likely ended ‘Villy’, leaving Vickie alone with her business interests.

Victor (Eric Braeden) has notoriously put Newman Enterprises first during the many iterations of ‘Niktor’. While his focus on business didn’t solely serve to sever the many marital ties this famous couple has had, it often asserted money matters over family bonds. But that attitude actually underscored a belief in superiority.

Vickie has treated her multiple-time spouse in ways that are very similar to how Victor treated Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott). And all who claim gray areas between Victor’s many infidelities and Vickie’s relatively pure status should reconsider the mark.

Nikki is a high-maintenance person who has battled addiction issues. Billy is a high-maintenance person who has battled addiction issues. Of course those comparisons aren’t identical, but the similarities between these two characters and the manner in which their soul mates have interacted with them is compelling.

Nikki and Billy are universally seen as genuinely good parents who adore their children. That strength has often been cited by their spouses as well. The unbreakable child ties that Victor and Vickie have with Nikki and Billy in each regard also represent the true nature of both relationships.

While documented patterns never guarantee the future, Nikki and Billy know that Victor and Vickie will likely always be in their lives. But recent issues have again created real rifts that won’t be easily healed. Plus the deepening of existing emotional scar tissue also means that both pairings must find new ways to get along.

In Vickie’s case (and possibly in Victor’s as well, where Nikki is concerned) her recent actions pushed Billy away. He’s with Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) now and that couple seems likely to persist.

The Newman creed rejects personal responsibility, but then later relents. But oftentimes the damage that’s been created causes lasting consequences, as Vickie is realizing again.
