The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Vickie Makes Play For Billy – Ice Princess Battles Feisty Phyllis

Vickie (Amelia Heinle) told Billy (Jason Thompson) to get lost on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Then the former, two-time Mrs. Abbott admitted that she actually wanted to reconcile with the father of her two younger children. Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) knows ‘Philly’ isn’t cemented. Miss Summers realizes that she’ll have to fight for her newly established relationship to continue.

Just a few weeks ago Billy was living an emasculated life. He was bowing to all of Queen Victoria’s demands, while also having convinced himself that his supposed soul mate would never grant him the honor of remarriage. Yes, Billy’s situation was that bad.

The ‘Ice Princess’, a nickname that knocks Vickie down a peg on the pompous pole, whimsically decided that she wants Billy back. How gracious that she granted him that honor. Now, if Billy were to die tomorrow his entire existence would have been worth it.

The former version of Phyllis, played by the electric Michelle Stafford (now playing Nina on ABC’s General Hospital), would never have given yesterday’s Billy (then played by Billy Miller) a second look, or a way in. However, let’s assume that Stafford remained in her role and was eventually paired with Thompson’s version of Billy.

Can any honest long-time fan believe that Stafford’s Phyllis would lose Billy to Victoria once she had him? Tognoni’s acting ability is solid, but the role she’s working projects the current Phyllis as vulnerable. She’s actually funny in a light-hearted way, rather than cutting as the then-‘Red’ used to be.

Billy does sincerely care about Phyllis, but his heart is still synced to Victoria. The fact that Vickie cares for their daughter and his son, who she adopted, also puts two heavy marks in Vickie’s column.

‘Feisty Phyllis’ has hardly secured Billy’s rights after a few weeks of their now-public relationship. Vickie has everlasting ties to Billy, but also doesn’t have a certain path back to ‘Villy’. So the intriguing conflict between all three characters should play out at least through the summer on Y&R.
