The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Vickie and Billy Rook Jesse – Cane Finally Brought Down

Vickie (Amelia Heinle) and Billy (Jason Thompson) still make a good team on ‘The Young and the Restless’. After outfoxing Jesse (Max Adler), they immediately bee-lined to the suddenly dysfunctional Ashby house. Yes, Cane’s (Daniel Goddard) complete litany of dirty deeds were finally exposed as a result.

Billy enticed Jesse to go with him to see Vickie at Brash and Sassy after discovering that the videographer had key information. Shades of ‘Villy’ at it’s most productive were applied, as Vickie bluffed Jesse into admitting what Cane instructed him to do, the price he’d been paid to remain silent and to turn over his original memory stick which contained the digital goods.

Cane channeled his father when he decided to pay Jesse to follow Billy around at the DARE shoot. That Los Angeles-based commercial should have been a home run. And it was, until Cane’s petty and amoral actions badly damaged that part of Brash and Sassy’s cool hockey-linked marketing campaign.

What did Cane think would happen? Jesse wasn’t going to simply go away. Surly characters like that never do. Possibly Cane didn’t watch enough daytime soaps when he was recovering from his knee surgery years ago. If he had wisdom could have been gained.

Viewers know that those last two lines were an inside joke, as Cane’s surgery took place last fall. That’s when the twins were elementary school children. Through the magic of television, Mattie (Lexie Stevenson) and Charlie (Noah Alexander Gerry) are now high-schoolers in the summer of 2017.

Yes, these characters were SORAS’d (Soap Opera Rapid Aging Syndrome), as others in Genoa City have been before. It happened to Vickie, Billy and Lily (Christel Khalil) when TPTB decided directional changes were needed.

As for poor Lily, she’s finally had enough. Despite all the leeway she gave Cane, sabotaging her modeling comeback and stealing $25,000 from their kid’s school account was just too much to take.

Lily bashers may try to shift the subject to Khalil’s character’s past indiscretions. But anything Mrs. Ashby did had zero to do with Cane’s actions and Cane’s lies. This week his life went up in flames. And there he stands with a half-empty match book cover in his right hand.
