‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers Thursday January 5: Devon’s Amnesia – Gloria Uncovers Lauren’s Secret – Sharon Walks In On Chelsea And Nick

“The Young and the Restless” spoilers for Thursday, January 5, tease that Devon (Bryton James) will start to stir. At the hospital, Stitch (Sean Carrigan) notices and urges Devon to open his eyes. Once Devon is alert, Stitch informs him that he was in a car accident.

In the hallway, Hilary (Mishael Morgan) and Neil (Kristoff St. John) learn that Devon is awake. Neil calls Lily (Christel Khalil) with updates while Hilary frets about how Devon will react to her. When Lily shows up, she gets into an argument with Hilary. Stitch comes out and notes that Devon asked for his wife.

Hilary goes in and Devon explains that he can’t remember the charity benefit. He’s just happy that Hilary wasn’t riding with him at the time of the crash. Devon asks if Hilary can forgive him for making her worry like this.

Once Neil and Lily join them, Devon apologizes to everyone. Hilary tells them that Devon can’t recall the gala. Lily steps out of the room with Hilary. They bicker over whether Devon should be told the truth. Hilary insists that she loves Devon. That’s all that matters.

Neil breaks up the fight and Stitch walks over. He doesn’t know if Devon’s memory of that night will come back or not. Stitch feels it’s important to keep Devon calm and not reveal anything that would cause a setback.

At Lauren’s (Tracey E. Bregman) place, she goes over investor ideas with Phyllis (Gina Tognoni). Lauren says she hasn’t told Michael (Christian LeBlanc) the extent of the company’s problems. She feels like she’s responsible for this mess and she doesn’t want Michael to know. Phyllis suggests that Michael wouldn’t blame Lauren.

At Chelsea’s (Melissa Claire Egan) design studio, Nick (Joshua Morrow) stops by to make sure their friendship is solid. They agree that it is and share a hug. Sharon (Sharon Case) walks in and sees their warm embrace. She talks to Nick about Faith (Alyvia Alyn Lind) for a moment.

When Nick mentions Dylan (Steve Burton), Sharon gets irritated. She contends that everything is fine in her marriage. At Crimson Lights, Gloria (Judith Chapman) finds Kevin (Greg Rikaart) and Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson). They notice that she’s all dressed up and wonder what’s going on.

Gloria reveals that she plans on going back to work for Chelsea. Chloe nearly chokes on her coffee. Kevin explains that Chloe is employed by Chelsea now. Gloria makes a comment about Chloe trying to kill Adam (Justin Hartley). Chloe points out that a lot has changed. She adds that Sharon took Gloria’s position.

Gloria thinks she offers something special and can supervise Sharon. Later, Kevin speaks with Gloria alone. He thinks Gloria should take some time to travel, but she explains that she’s flat broke. Gloria needs to make some cash and she plans on working hard to make that happen.

Chloe enters the studio and gives them the news about Gloria’s plan. Sharon is worried about losing her spot, but Chelsea promises she can stay. Chelsea brings up Sharon and Dylan’s relationship. She wonders how things are going and Sharon notes that everything is OK. She suggests that Dylan is just concentrating on his job right now.

Back at home, Gloria asks Lauren if she can work for Fenmore’s. The request is denied and Lauren gets up to take a phone call. Gloria looks at Lauren’s laptop and sees how much trouble Fenmore’s is facing. “The Young and the Restless” fans will be anxious to see what Gloria does with this info.

At The Underground, Nick and Phyllis have a brief chat. When Nick’s bond with Chelsea comes up, he claims they’re just friends. Phyllis playfully calls Nick a liar and he explains the events of New Year’s Eve. Nick and Phyllis rehash their own history. Phyllis feels like Nick needs to be cautious since loneliness can sneak up on you.

It sounds like some nice moments are on the way. Will Phyllis and Nick continue to be pals or could a reunion be sparked? We’ll have to wait and see, but Nick is focused on Chelsea for now. Y&R rumors hint that some surprises are coming up. Stay tuned to see what’s in store.
