The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Tessa Needs To Save Crystal – Music Mojo Off-track

Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) can’t think straight on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Who could in knowing that one’s sister was being held against her will by a criminal ring? Devon’s (Bryton James) first bright star will therefore remain limited until this tenuous situation is resolved.

The addition of Fairbanks to the cast has been terrific. This actor’s dual acting and musical chops are equally on point. Tessa’s emotional exposure instantly won viewer’s hearts, which set the exact tone Y&R obviously intended for this new and very likeable character character.

Crystal’s (Morgan Obenreder) introduction to Genoa City was facilitated by Sharon (Sharon Case). Yet another smart link to a complex storyline that touches numerous key Y&R characters. Sharon’s work at the Crisis Center soon resulted in Crystal’s call for help, which then propelled Case’s character on a meaningful and continuing rescue mission.

What remains unknown is whether Tessa was once involved in the type of trade that Crystal somehow was drawn into. Plus, is Alice (Tamara Clatterbuck) purely the leader of the operation that Crystal is forcibly a part of, or is Miss Johnson’s link to their lives far more significant?

Evoking memories of Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian), Tessa has the potential to become a buzzworthy Y&R star. The Underground nicely serves as her showcase. Devon’s streaming service allows Tessa’s performer arc to be current and grow after the Crystal issue has been resolved as well.

To the above end, Sharon and Scott (Daniel Hall), who’s smoothly supplanted Dylan (Steve Burton), are edging closer to exposing Alice’s place in the criminal ring. Viewers have seen that Zack (Ryan Ashton) may be her partner and business front man, or more than that.

Compelling soap often borrows topics from today’s headlines. Rather than rip them from print, as was the case until a decade or so ago, Y&R is telling a story that is being reported by various internet sites, along with traditional media outlets.

Unlike real news, this Y&R tale will likely be wrapped in the near future and involve some type of positive closure, or at least afford partial satisfaction for the connected characters. Here’s hoping as many real life Crystal’s realize their freedom and that CBS’ top-rated steamer continues to heighten awareness about serious topics, as socially conscious daytime dramas are known to do.
