Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) is desperate on ‘The Young and the Restless’. She wants to bring the admitted killer of her husband Adam (Justin Hartley) to justice. That’s why reaching out to Scott (Daniel Hall) was wise and may prove to be fortuitous as well.
Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) escaped the country using a fake passport. Chelsea retained the three faux documents that Victor (Eric Braeden) paid for last summer due to nostalgia one would assume, or this is just a plot vehicle that was injected right now. She asked her father-in-law to ask his contact if Chloe used him to create her phony paper.
Whether the ‘Moustache’ subsequently called his shady third-party vendor, as he claimed to have done, is unknowable. In any event, Chelsea spoke with Scott in the Newman Towers Executive Suite hallway in the meantime.
Scott is believed to be a famous journalist, whose investigative skills are world class. While he is a legitimate writer, his credential has been used as a cover for work as a government operative. Chelsea doesn’t know it, but Scott’s deeper background will likely prove valuable.
The arrangement between Victor and Scott might eventually lead to a dilemma. For the time being, Scott doesn’t know that Victor was involved with Chloe from the jump. The ‘Black Knight’ now must hide what he did from the public in order to protect his company, where Mr. Grainger is employed.
Victor later went to The Underground to meet with Nicholas (Joshua Morrow). He advised his estranged son to tell Chelsea to stop pursuing Chloe. Nick later met with Chelsea and told her the opposite based, in part, on Sharon (Sharon Case) advising him to support the woman he loves.
Who is Sharon’s new significant other? Scott. What did Scott just surprisingly share with her? That he’s worked for the government in the past.
Yes, ‘Chick’ and ‘Shott’s’ lives will remain intertwined. Whether the history between three of the parties (Chelsea, Nick and Sharon) somehow aids Scott in locating Chloe is at least plausible.
Viewers are right to suspect that they haven’t seen the last of Hendrickson’s character. She’ll likely return in the summer when Kevin (Greg Rikaart’s) is written out. Scott seems like the obvious choice to solve the mystery as to where Chloe is hiding. And oh yes, he just happens to be Kevin’s friend. Another connection that’s worth Y&R’s fans deeper consideration.
