The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Scott And Victor’s Partnership Kicks Off – More Than Just Meets The Eye

Scott (Daniel Hall) has connected with the most powerful man in Genoa City on ‘The Young and the Restless’. By agreeing to help Victor (Eric Braeden) write his memoir, Lauren’s (Tracey Bregman) son knowingly positioned himself for an expected ride. Y&R’s choice to write this revived character into a central arc also appears to confirm that Hall is being positioned as a key long-term cast member.

Victor’s re-imagining is an interesting turn. Co-executive producer and head writer Sally Sussman has determined that a more believable storyline for this enduring lead male cast member will result by exploring his past life.

Many ardent devotees of the perceived ‘good old days’ are right to cherish their memories of daytime’s better days. Soap operas through the 1980’s were surely far more popular than they are today, due to a variety of cultural changes and technological advances. But were now-ancient stories actually of a higher caliber than today’s tales?

Y&R will open its vault to examine Victor’s life in the coming months. Cherry-picked moments will represent whatever Sussman and her team believe are the best of the best. Yet any honest assessment of those analog treasures should be balanced with reality.

Scott agreed to co-author Victor’s book if he was given free reign to write honestly about this famous man’s life. Viewers should promise to follow Scott’s path as best they can as well. Digest all that will be presented and then decide if Genoa City was great and if so, consider whether it’s still solid today.

All other living fans and those who are with Colonel Douglas Austin (Michael Evans), have earned the right to feel however they wish about all aspects of this genre. With that said, it does seem best to look at the past with an open mind and try to appreciate what today and tomorrow thankfully still offer to a still-loyal audience.
