The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Phyllis Makes Smart Choice – Renewed Chance For Lasting Love

Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) still loves Jack (Peter Bergman), in a certain way on ‘The Young and the Restless’. But she’s also come to realize that her current passions are connected to Billy (Jason Thompson). Now that ‘Phack’ has been over for awhile and she’s single, embracing ‘Philly’ makes sense on many levels.

All enduring relationships are filled with moments of joy, neutrality and heartbreak. Phyllis’ extended connections to Jack will always be meaningful. Yet each party in that pair realized that they’d reached the end and worked through an amicable divorce settlement.

Functioning far better than many similar couples, Jack and Phyllis have been getting along rather well at Jabot. Jack even complemented ‘Philly’ for being truthful with him about their reveal. Oh wait, that was just a very realistic daydream sequence. Viewers will be watching to see if soapy reality plays out as nicely.

Billy was initially using Phyllis, at least in part. He wanted to hurt his brother last year and succeeded in doing so. But as time flowed, Billy fully evidenced his honest feelings for Miss Summers. In so doing he was also expressing personal maturity.

These renewed lovebirds exhibit the potential for a lasting connection. Each person does have an explosive personal history. However, plenty of characters in the world of daytime drama also possess the same rap sheet.

Jack isn’t over what he sees as Billy’s betrayal. That feeling seems likely to resonate indefinitely.

Vickie’s (Amelia Heinle) response and the fallout associated to it will be different. Two of Billy’s children are currently living with her. While their co-parenting has been solid, Vickie has always been assuming that Billy was under her spell. The ‘Philly’ announcement will destroy the illusion of total emotional control.

Regardless of Jack’s or Vickie’s feelings, Phyllis and Billy have a chance to make their love last as long as they maintain mutual trust. Individual foes, or various situations will surely present future challenges as well. However, ‘Philly’ appears primed to succeed, which has resulted through Y&R’s savvy script writing.
