The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Past Misdeeds Haunt Victor, Will Nick Ever Trust Dad Again?

Victor (Eric Braeden) was genuinely trying to be a better man on ‘The Young and the Restless’. But Nick (Joshua Morrow) came to believe that his dad’s personality change was just a cover story after realizing that he’d recruited Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) to frame Adam (Justin Hartley) last year. Yes, the demented lesson Victor taught his apparently deceased son has boomeranged badly. And his past actions might cost him those who he values most.

Nick has been leery of Victor for years. That’s why he used Newman Towers as a career revolving door until making a clean break and eventually buying The Underground. Nick’s experience and instincts taught him to distance himself from his dad. That was a heart-wrenching decision, but one that’s proved to be apt.

Victor’s assistance with Faith (Alyvia Alyn Lind) has been genuine and he has been fully supportive after the Christian (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen) reveal played out. But unexpectedly catching Chloe at the airport and then seeing her use the Newman jet to escape Genoa City (and her arrest) upset the golden apple cart again.

After hearing bits and pieces of what Chloe and Victor were saying to each other, Nick was discovered. Victor asked him what he was doing there, after which Nick attempted to stop Chloe from departing. But she was already on board the jet, which then flew through the night sky to an unknown destination.

Nick knew within a few minutes that his dad honestly didn’t know what Chloe had admitted earlier in the day, at her intended wedding no less. She blew up the cabin, thinks she killed Adam and purposely left town to avoid being put back in a mental health facility.

Victor’s frozen place on that set was more than a planned stop mark in the script. His position and reaction shot confirmed what viewers knew as true. Now Victor’s challenge will be to convince his loved ones that he wasn’t involved in Chloe’s revenge plan that may have led to murder, while also trying to hid the fact that he did use that woman to frame his own son for the same criminal act.
