‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Nick Wise To Work With Noah – New Newman Direction Needed

Nick (Joshua Morrow) has fought with his father quite often on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Victor (Eric Braeden) recently told him that he’s no longer his son. That’s one reason why Nick has opted to go into business with Noah (Robert Adamson). He hopes to strengthen the already strong tie that he has with his first-born child.

Morrow’s character is far from perfect. He’s also far less vindictive, controlling and manipulative than the ‘Black Knight’.

Take all the Sharon (Sharon Case) stories and other backfill that one likes and it doesn’t come close to Victor’s personal baggage. Nick’s dad is mentally unbalanced. That fact isn’t directly addressed by the Newman clan, as it wishes to deny reality. And that problem has served to enable the ‘Moustache’ for decades.

Nick is balanced. He’s been getting along with Sharon and Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) for awhile and has healthy relationships with his children. He’s long loved his mother and has generally gotten along with both of his sisters.

His link to Adam (most recently played by Justin Hartley) was a different story, but that interactive tale is also true for nearly everyone else in Genoa City. However, to both men’s credit, they did genuinely bond before Adam’s apparent death last September.

All points noted above are influencing Nick’s feelings about his future. Now, more than ever he wants to live a better life. Nick believes one way to do that is by financially supporting Noah’s franchise plans for The Underground.

This local nightclub has done well, both before and after the collapse of the building. But Nick is hardly business savvy. As he recently told Noah and Sharon told Nick, past Crimson Lights’ expansion hopes failed in Milwaukee.

Hopefully all goes well for Noah. One wonders if some element of Victor’s controlling nature will emerge due to Nick’s money investment. The type of venture that’s being called for appears to be risky. The Underground II will apply stress to this particular Newman father-son relationship. Viewers will learn who both men handle it and each other.
