Nick (Joshua Morrow) doesn’t realize everything that the ‘Moustache’ (Eric Braeden) has been doing on ‘The Young and the Restless’. But Victor’s moves against him will soon be exposed. When that happens Nick will be forced to defend his family against his father and the coming response will be one that Victor isn’t prepared for.
Faith’s (Alyvia Alyn Lind) return from summer camp establishes a new battle line. As Y&R fans recall, she chose to live with Victor and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) prior to her departure, but was later taken back by Nick after the Adam (Justin Hartley) angle came to light.

How fitting that one child raising her parent (Faith and her father) mimics another (Nick) raising his own (Victor). That upside down, backwards, inside out approach to reality remains wrong. Feel-goody rationalizations for such situations center upon whatever the parent in the equation has done wrong, therefore justifying whatever whippersnapper from trying to assume control and thinking that’s justified.
Of course soapy rules are being applied to this Newman family, as most clans aren’t led by someone like the ‘Black Knight’. Morrow’s character is hardly innocent himself. As for Faith, she’s still far too young to be tagged like the two other characters who have been referenced.
Having his Genoa City Athletic Club privileges revoked and being kicked out of the Tack House are points that Nick can accept. He realized that he’s been living off his dad for far too long.
However, the dirty business moves Victor made regarding The Underground’s expansion plans were totally wrong. Subverting Nick and Noah’s (Robert Adamson) goal to create a chain has nothing to do with tough love. Instead Victor is simply being vindictive.

Victor’s subsequent attempt to use Faith as a pawn this month will push Nick to react. And it seems likely that Victor will underestimate his son’s response, just as he did that hook in the stables. Yes, the summer’s end will lead to fall’s Newman family swoon.
