‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Nick Getting Along With Chelsea, Sharon And Faith – Roof Holds Up For Now

Yes, that was a reference to The Underground, which previously collapsed on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Nick’s (Joshua Morrow) life has been flowing smoothly for awhile in Genoa City. In soap time that means about a month. But when and how will the roof cave in on this character in the future? Viewers know that’s basically inevitable.

It took awhile, but Sally Sussman and her team obviously decided to take the storyline leftovers Chuck Pratt, Junior left for them. Viewers have received ‘Chick’ like last weekend’s soup. Nick and Chelsea are a manufactured couple, invented due to Kelly Sullivan’s (Sage) write-out nearly a year ago and Justin Hartley’s (Adam) voluntary exit last summer.

‘Chick’ begin at a vanilla starting point. Do they have the potential to be great? Maybe, but this scribe and the audience should give both solid actors and Y&R a chance to prove us wrong.

Sharon hasn’t been this steady since before Cassie (Camryn Grimes) died. But her mental clarity and morality is legitimately straight right now. Fans have been waiting for what seems like forever for Sharon to revert to a real human being. Her lack of neediness is encouraging and she’s reached an important detente with Nick.

Having Sharon as a equal co-parent allows Nick to focus on Christian (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen. Twins whose hair appears to be growing an inch per episode). He’s also reverting to a normal relationship with Faith (Alyvia Alyn Lind), as evidenced by this week’s sit-down with that little girl and her parents.

Nick has created a complicated life for himself. He has children with three different women, two of whom have veered off the rails on numerous occasions. Sage was somewhat smothering. But her current reach doesn’t stretch from Heaven, which assumes she’s there.

It would seem hard to imagine that 2017 will remain drama-free for Mr. Newman. The looming Christian paternity issue stands as the biggest unknown threat that would transform Nick’s optimistic outlook in an instant. Of course that could mean Adam’s eventual resurrection (again), but that’s another story for a future digital day.
