Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) believes that Adam (Justin Hartley) is Christian’s (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen) father on ‘The Young and the Restless’. She’s felt guilty about withholding that information ever since ‘Chadam’ opted to keep that secret. Now Nick (Joshua Morrow) was persuaded by Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) to keep his father’s role in Adam’s death to himself. That means he can’t tell his potential fiance the truth.
Many couples face conflict. But choosing to withhold facts from a potential spouse appears to establish a limited run relationship. In this instance, both parties are now at fault.
It was generally understandable, though not fully right, that Adam and Chelsea didn’t tell Nick about Christian’s paternity. The boy was initially thought to have died. So why add to his grief after Sage (Kelly Sullivan) tragically died by telling Nick that he wasn’t Christian’s father?
However, when Sully reverted to his real self Chelsea should have told Nick. Doing so might have meant that a relationship with him would never have happened. But he also might have forgiven her in time and come to understand the choice ‘Chadam’ made.
It’s never too late. But Nick seems likely to eventually learn the truth about Christian. Whenever and however that happens, Chelsea’s moral position will be significantly less than it was in the past.
Meanwhile, Nick has now put himself in the position of not telling Chelsea that her husband was killed, in part, due to Victor’s (Eric Braeden) past actions. The ‘Moustache’ recruited Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) to frame Adam. He also recently helped her to escape town, though he genuinely didn’t know that she’d admitted to blowing up the cabin.
Removing all emotion, one might think that Chelsea’s and Nick’s actions might cancel each other out. Possibly, they could see each other’s side and reach an accord if their secrets were divulged at the same time, or in response to the other’s information spill?

Emotions can’t be erased from the equation. So a double explosion seems almost certain to be seen whenever Nick and Chelsea learn the secret that each person has been keeping from the other.
