Knight may have played Jerry Seinfeld’s nemesis, but on The Young and the Restless, he played someone everyone will love. Wayne will portray a music promoter named Irv West. He will share scenes with Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks), Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes), Noah Newman (Robert Adamson), Sharon Newman (Sharon Case), and Scott Grainger, Jr. (Daniel Hall). Wayne will appear on the soap opera on Thursday and Friday (September 21 and 22).

ABC Soaps In Depth shares that Sharon Case was surprised when she met him in the hall way. She added that everyone knew who he was right away. Case revealed that everyone knew who he was right away and Knight was friendly and nice to everyone!
Wayne explained that soap operas move at a different pace than prime-time. He wasn’t sure about agreeing to appear on Y&R because it was outside his comfort zone. Apparently, the Seinfeld alum has heard horror stories about how many pages soaps tape per day.
Even though Young and the Restless is fast pace; Knight stated he enjoyed his time on the show. The actor said that he has a renewed respect for soap actors because their job is not easy.

The Young and the Restless hasn’t revealed any more information about Knight’s two-episode arc. They said he would be a music promoter and work with some of the main characters on the show. It sounds like he will want to recruit someone to his music label that he sees perform at The Underground. However, CBS has yet to confirm his storyline line details.
