Paul (Doug Davidson) meets up with Kevin and they share an emotional goodbye. Chelsea finds Nick (Joshua Morrow) at the tack house and gives him updates on Kevin’s plans. Nick thinks a new beginning will be good for Chloe and Bella. Talk turns to Nikki’s (Melody Thomas Scott) MS and the concert stress. Nick explains the situation, but Chelsea thinks he should let his mother handle it.
At the ranch, Victor (Eric Braeden) shows up with a dress for Nikki’s performance. She remains aloof and assures Victor that there’s been no change in their relationship. Victor pushes Nikki to try on her new gown and asks Chelsea to come over for adjustments. Nikki also puts on her necklace, but she has trouble thanks to her MS symptoms. She needs Chelsea’s help to undo the necklace a little later.
Back at the tack house, Victor stops by and gets into a heated argument with Nick. They bicker about whether this concert is for Nikki or Victor. Nick wants his father to cancel the event immediately, but Victor suggests that Nikki would be crushed. They debate, but Nick thinks disappointment would be better than all the physical pain Nikki’s dealing with.
Victor returns to Nikki and offers her an out. She doesn’t have to perform if all this is too much for her. Nikki argues that she wants to get on that stage. Meanwhile, Nick tells Chelsea that he just can’t let Victor do this to Nikki. He insists that the concert isn’t going to happen.
