The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Mariah Right To Worry – Hilary a Force of Nature as Devon Knows

Mariah (Camryn Grimes) knew all along that Devon (Bryton James) loved Hilary (Mishael Morgan) on ‘The Young and the Restless’. That’s why she waited before becoming more deeply involved with Mr. Hamilton. Their friendship has evolved into the start of a relationship, but recent events indicate that Devon is still stuck on his ex-wife.

Hilary is magnetic. There’s no doubt about it. That’s why all logical arguments people offered to Neil (Kristoff St. John), Devon and Jordan (Darnell Kirkwood) miss the point.

Most men are transfixed by Hilary’s good looks. She controls their thoughts and actions by making guys believe she occupies their soul, that they’ll be together forever and other such gooey nonsense.

Here’s the deal – Hilary is trouble. She cares only about what other people can do for her. If someone happens to be a guy that she finds attractive, or useful then look out.

Useful is the key search word in the last sentence. Hilary took advantage of Neil’s forgiving heart. She became a power play in Genoa City because Devon fell for her act. Now, Jordan appears to be a convenient stand-in as Hilary plots her return performance with Mr. Hamilton.

The host of the ‘Hilary Hour’ has never accepted the fact that she’s no longer Mrs. Hamilton. And that’s a major problem for Mariah.

Miss Copeland has been revealed over time to be a good soul. Sharon’s unconditional motherly love and acceptance enabled her to develop normal family feelings and then, the ability to start a meaningful relationship with Devon.

Devon is a good guy as well. It’s not that he intends to hurt Mariah. Hardly, he likely won’t even realize that he’s being drawn back to Hilary’s lair until it’s too late. He’ll tell himself that things will be different the second time around, or whatever.

Mariah will need to fight for Devon if she intends to remain with him. It won’t be easy and Hilary isn’t guaranteed victory. But history indicates that ‘Hevon’ Part II can’t be laughed off.
