The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Mariah Must Be Cautious – Devon Is On The Rebound

Mariah (Camryn Grimes) should proceed cautiously on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Yes, Devon (Bryton James) is a kind-hearted guy. But he’s on the rebound from his marriage to Hilary (Mishael Morgan), which could create strife in his next meaningful relationship.

‘Hevon’ was an exceptionally dramatic couple. Passion often sparks such emotion, as those who walked on eggshells whenever Hilary and Devon were close by can easily recall.

Now that their divorce is official, Devon is free to move forward romantically. Being a billionaire he’ll naturally draw plenty of interest from various female personalities. However, there is one particular woman who has proven herself to be sincerely interested in Devon himself. Yes, that woman is Mariah.

Devon recently demonstrated his trust in Miss Copeland by asking her to keep an eye out for the then-Mrs. Hamilton. Mariah’s job was basically to keep Hilary in check and to inform Devon if she was going off the rails (yet again). That choice reconfirmed that Mr. Hamilton trusted an employee and friend more than his wife.

If GC Buzz becomes Hilary’s property through the divorce settlement Mariah won’t have to worry about dating her boss. But Devon might not be willing to completely cut himself off from a media outlet that he feels tied to.

It’s fair to say that ‘Hevon’ had a mature discussion leading into Devon signing the divorce papers. This couple severed ties by mutual agreement surrounded by soft tones and a nostalgic look back at the past. But like many recently divorced people, Devon will need time to move past his wife.

Like Devon, Mariah didn’t have a normal childhood. That affected her ability to form progressive relationships when she became an adult. It took a few years until she came to trust her biological mother Sharon (Sharon Case), so investing in Devon will likely take time as well.

If there is to be a burgeoning relationship with Devon, Mariah would be wise to tread carefully and remain self-aware. It’s not that ‘Mevon’ is impossible, instead both people have fragile personal histories and might not flow smoothly together, or at first.
