The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Lily And Jordan Heat Up – Cane Has Serious Competition

Lily (Christel Khalil) was betrayed by Cane (Daniel Goddard) on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Now, a family friend is becoming more than that as the end of ‘Lane’ seems increasingly likely. Yes, Jordan (Darnell Kirkwood) is being seriously considered.

Cane dug his own holes. Lily gave him plenty of leeway when she first learned about the Juliet (Laur Allen) incident. Mrs. Ashby was even willing to stand by Cane when it was revealed that Miss Helton would be giving birth. But Cane’s willingness to drain the twin’s college fund was outrageous.

Sometimes a person can veer so far away from reality that everything is rationalized. That’s what happened to Cane. He kept justifying everything all of his actions as part of a plan to restore stability and his own sanity.

Cane appeared likely to survive the Juliet reveal if he hadn’t paid Jesse (Max Adler) to sabotage Billy (Jason Thompson) in Los Angeles. That act undercut the DARE shoot, which represented Lily’s comeback modeling gig. The fact that Cane allowed himself to be blackmailed by Jesse at a later point and in so doing was willing to rob his own children, served to slice Lily’s trust.

Jordan was happy to be with Hilary (Mishael Morgan), but maintained ties with Lily throughout that short romance. Then, after Lily told Jordan all that Cane had done, Mr. Wilde moved in.

The future of ‘Lane’ appears to be in doubt, especially when viewers consider the seeming lifetime tie Juliet and Cane have established. Even if it’s proven that Juliet’s baby story is false and Cane isn’t the father, Lily and Jordan will likely have bonded in the intervening time.

This evolving personal tie has emerged as Cane’s second enemy. Of course, the first is himself.

For his part, Jordan has known Lily for years and is offering her a legitimate option. Charlie (Noah Alexander Gerry) is trying to replace Cane with his mom’s friend. Mattie hasn’t gotten to that point yet and may never.

But the distance between Cane, Lily and the twins will continue to lengthen unless some dramatic incident takes place. Since this is soap, that type of write-in can’t be ruled out.
