This scribe, along with other fans of solid actors don’t want Rikaart or Hendrickson to leave the show. It’s fair to differ in opinion about the performances both longtime members of the cast have offered. But the keyboard that’s creating these words for respected readers believes that Rikaart and Hendrickson individually and collectively always produced great work.

Such is the nature of soaps. The grind of the industry, changing cast arrangements, actor’s interests, contract factors, among other issues means that people leave. Nicely, within this genre, they can always return at some future point as well.

Victor (Eric Braeden) believed that Chloe was being held captive by Dr. Harris (Ron Melendez) in Louisiana. He paid her former mental health facility psychiatrist to authorize her early release. So why not give him a stipend to make her his indefinite prisoner as well?

Two problems entered this equation though. Kevin and Chloe wanted to leave Harris’ grip and this poor guy proved to be living in a fantasy world, where his deceased daughter was resurrected in the form of Chloe.

Kevin survived Harris’ murder attempt by vehicular explosion and then rescued Chloe. Both characters returned to Genoa City, where Kevin then retrieved Bella (Gia Poeme).

Why it took Dr. Harris awhile to escape the ties that ‘Khloe’ created, or how he escaped at all isn’t relevant now. Most importantly, that delusional soul called Victor the moment he broke free and informed him that his charge was loose and that Kevin accompanied her.

How Victor quickly located this delightfully kooky pair can be attributed to GPS, or some such soapy script point. What happens next, as both actors and their characters are written out is what engaging daytime drama is all about.
