‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Juliet Worked Cane Over – Career Advancement Lies Ahead

Why was Juliet (Laur Allen) feeding Cane (Daniel Goddard) countless local sake shots on ‘The Young and the Restless’? During that process, when asked, Allen’s character advised that she wanted to be Brash and Sassy’s Asian market lead. Yes, some people will do anything to advance their careers.

Cane willingly put himself in a fool’s position. Whether ‘Jane’ actually happened wasn’t made clear. Either Juliet is allowing Mr. Ashby to believe something did, or Cane’s guilty conscience is kicking him (again). In either instance, Cane behaved inappropriately in an extension of his workplace.

In the recent past Cane pushed himself beyond his physical limits while playing basketball with the twins and needed knee surgery. A pain-killer addiction storyline was foreshadowed during his recovery. But it never materialized and seems to have been offered as a partial setup for Cane’s off-kilter personality turn that since spilled out.

Lily’s (Christel Khalil) unexpected return to modeling evoked jealously from her husband. During the same time period Cane wasn’t able to liquidize enough of his financial assets to meet Jill’s (Jess Walton) asking price for Brash and Sassy and pushed his frustration onto his wife. That came after Cane initially was offered a one-third share of the company in an anticipated three-pronged buyout.

Aware of Cane’s ongoing insecurities, in hopes of placating his ego and in wanting to get rid of his annoying behavior for awhile, Vickie sent him to Japan in an attempt to finalize an exclusive agreement with a leading businessman in that region. Sato-san (Richard Narita), which, according to Juliet is the proper translation of Mr. Sato, signed the deal despite Cane nearly having blown it with a “bro-hug” (again, per Juliet’s interpretation).

While Juliet appeared to be an effective intermediary, her long-range business plans are murky. ‘Jane’s’ shot binge also prevented viewers from seeing Cane perform karaoke. Meanwhile, back in Genoa City, Lily was being stalked by a crazed fan.

Subsequent real, or imagined proceedings in Tokyo are now affecting Cane’s mind. Whether ‘Lane’s’ marriage will be impacted is a point that viewers are considering.
