Being with Victoria (Amelia Heinle) after-hours might have been another coincidence on ‘The Young and the Restless’. But this is the second time that Juliet (Laur Allen) has been present when a top-ranking member of Brash and Sassy has behaved recklessly in public. While she didn’t orchestrate either event, Juliet also didn’t restrain her superiors.
Is Juliet a cutthroat? Viewers don’t yet know the answer to that question. If she begins raising the issue of Vickie’s drinking at work, then suspicions about her intentions will naturally be raised.

Cane (Daniel Goddard) downed 10 sake bombs after sealing the Tokyo deal. Juliet played the hero in that instance by serving as a translator and cultural interpreter. Her efforts with Mr. Sato (Richard Narita) helped to smooth over a misunderstanding that Cane caused when he “bro-hugged” the traditional Japanese businessman. Juliet later helped Cane back to and into his hotel room thereafter.
Securing an agreement with Sato’s retail store chain allowed Brash and Sassy to become key players in the Asian region. That event propelled Juliet into Victoria’s business radar. Cane later tried to dissuade Juliet from working for the company in Genoa City after she failed to win a spot as Brash and Sassy’s lead Asian region representative. But Vickie offered Juliet a marketing job which she quickly accepted.
Until this week Juliet was merely a guilty thorn in Cane’s side. Their apparent romantic incident in Japan gave her the type of leverage Mr. Ashby doesn’t want to live under indefinitely. However, Victoria now also exposed her personal vulnerabilities after inviting Juliet out for a drink. After drinking too much, Juliet escorted Victoria home.
Tenured Y&R fans withhold judgment whenever a new character is written into the story. So it could be that Juliet has simply performed well and rightfully gained a position with Brash and Sassy. Whatever personal relationships she subsequently develops might stand separately from her business efforts. As this is a soap opera, she might also have a self-promoting agenda that’s currently being unfurled.
