The Young and the Restless (Y&R) sources reveal that since heart disease is the number one cause of dead in females in the USA; they felt it was important to portray this on screen, and who better than a top executive who was always viewed as powerful and almost invincible.

They wanted it to be realistic, where most people ignore the symptoms, if they have them at all. Y&R’s Sally Sussman and the writers did their research for this story and so did Jess Walton, who portrays Jill Abbott Atkinson; all fully aware on the responsibility of how much influence there is to what you say and do, onscreen. They are taking this huge health issue and hoping it is an opportunity to help others.

The Young and the Restless sources assure fans that this story line isn’t just going to vanish and we will see how this disease will force Jill to change her lifestyle; and this heart disease is here for life, it’s not something that can be fixed and just vanish like other diseases.
The Young and the Restless has also given fans an opportunity to see how this health crisis can affect the ones whose loved one is suffering. Jill’s son, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) has had a rude awakening when it comes to his views on his mother; she is not immortal; in fact, she is very fragile right now.
He immediately steps up and with the help of Esther (Kate Linder) they pack up all of Jill’s con-artist husband, Colin Atkinson (Tristan Rogers) belongings and throw them out the door; believing he is one of the biggest stressers in her life; especially since he squandered her entire fortune.
Y&R spoilers reveal her family and friends know she needs to cut back on the professional aspect too; she doesn’t seem to been too keen on leaving her companies in the hands of others. Victoria (Ameila Heinle) and Cane Ashby (Daniel Goddard) are in the midst of fighting for power over Brash & Sassy.

Jill was about to take Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and her very own sister, Lauren Fenmore (Tracey E. Bregman) to court over the illegal sale of Fenmore’s Fashion. How will her heart disease effect everything she has going on in her life, and will she be able to step back and follow doctor’s orders?
