Colin (Tristan Atkinson) had no excuse to offer on ‘The Young and the Restless’. He admitted stealing his wife’s money and using it in an investment that has returned a profit yet and also having committed the same act a number of times in the past. Jill (Jess Walton) has known that her husband is untrustworthy since first blush, yet decided to compartmentalize. But Mrs. Atkinson’s heart attack proves that the body overrules the heart sometimes.
Jill was incensed that Lauren (Tracey Bregman) didn’t tell her Fenmore’s was in deep financial trouble and had shut her out of efforts to rectify the situation. Beyond those key points, Jill felt most betrayed by the fact that her sister acted independently by selling a 49 percent stake of their family company to Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman).

A litigious resolution resulted in Fenmore’s becoming an equally shared corporation a number of years ago. This time, instead of suing her sister, Jill intended to go straight to Jack, buy him out and become majority owner.
The plan seemed easy enough. Inform Billy (Jason Thompson), Cane (Daniel Goddard) and Vickie (Amelia Heinle) that she (Jill) would sell them one-third shares of Brash and Sassy, take that money and make Jack an offer he couldn’t refuse. But Jack turned Jill down cold, anticipating that she’d meet his price.
Jill got mad, rejected Jack’s high-ball request and then met with Attorney David Sherman (Robert Gant). Hardcore viewers recall that Mitchell Sherman (William Wintersole) was Katherine’s (Jeanne Cooper) longtime lawyer. David’s dad was kept quite busy due to many of the Duchess’ dealings and personal entanglements.

David initially advised Jill against tapping into her portfolio simply to one-up Lauren, but she told him to follow through anyway. The money shock was subsequently delivered when David informed his client that her personal account was nearly empty.
Jill instantly realized that Colin was the thief, confronted him and then fell ill inside the fabled Chancellor mansion, which led to a hospital trip. Whether this dramatic event serves to end ‘Jilin’s’ marriage, or changes Colin’s ways remains to be seen on Y&R.
